New 100 metres PB :oD
Distance: 1000m
Discipline: Swimming
Time: Who cares
Right - not trained for a week, which just won't do with an IM on the horizon! Been having back problem, but then after the swim today that felt considerably better. Maybe I need to do more weights etc to strengthen the back. Hmmmm....
Anyhow - had a good sesh today - a mix of drills and time trials. Couldn't quite get under 48 seconds again for 50m, but did several sub 49 second times. I felt like my legs were "snaking" more today, I'll have to work on that.
However - I did do a 100m TT and put in a stonking 1:48.3 - nearly two seconds under my PB

Well done on the pb, Beary. You're making good progress even if at times it doesn't feel like it. You just need to start pulling it all together and getting out there some more.
You can do it :o))
Nice to see you realise you have to train to do an IM!! :-p
You may find that the exercise helps that back, mine gets tight as such if i just slop about doing f and all for a few days - reason enough to get out and train!
Well done on the PN!! (giggles I knew you meant PB!)
a good way to improve your 100 etc is to do say 6x100m on 2:00 ... so the opnly rest you get is what is left of the 2mins when you finish the 100m
as you improve you then move on to 1:55 then 1:50 etc
if 2:00 is to fast for a set of 6 start with an easyer 2:10
have fun
Sounds like a good plan Will - will get doing some of those :o)
Bear - don't you need to start swimming for endurance now..? It's a long way. Well done on the speed thing.
>>very proud<<
Well, yeah and no
I sorta changed technique, so at the moment I'm wukking at refining that before building the distance up too much again. I'm fairly confident it'll come to me quickly.
Plus if it's the same as running then intervals aids endurance too, 'cos I'm at a lower HR as I'm fitter if you see what I mean
