Running for an Hour
Discipline: Run
Distance: 7.4 miles
Time: 63 mins
Shoes: 2100s with heel raise
Av speed: Pants - about 8:40 :os
Well - my longest run to date (since injury), but not a pleasant one - the camber on the roads was nasty - both pavements seemed to slope the wrong way, and most of the way round, the road was too busy to run on. All in all it was a lousy choice of route!
It started off not badly, and the good thing was that the knee didn't really give any problems at any point. What was disappointing was how quickly my quads tired, so by about four miles I was frantically stretching to try to get some life back into them. I was also finding breathing hqrder work than normal. Was it the two and a bit week lay off since my last run, or was it that I was fighting a lurgy, or perhaps something else? I think I'm going to need to take a few days off from running to get the legs back to normal :o(

breathing hard and now lots of sleep? You is fighting the lurgy love!
Strange how running changes after a "big" injury. My right calf is soooo much more problematic than it ever was
If you ran in the evening it was incredibly warm and humid. I was out with our club snails and it was not nice in those conditions. Might have been that that was making your breathing hard. Of course, going straight back into a 7+ mile run might be regarded by some as a tad foolish but......
If you'd left it until later you could have combined running and swimming or, as in my case, cycling and swimming. Bliddy rain.
Well done for doing it!
It was in the morning WUmbly, and quite wet and windy.
Probably was a bit daft, btu only a couple of weeks off running :o(
