It's Not (All) About the Bike
Discipline: Running
Distance: 3.71 miles
Surface: Tarmac
Shoes: 2100s without heel insert
Time: 31.27
Average min/mile: 8:25
Woke up early (5:30) as planned, and swigged a cup of tea while managing to completely balls up a sudoku puzzle! I was a little nervous about this run, as I'd cycled yesterday, and my inner left knee had been a little sore last night, so I iced it.
After a lot of faffing about, I set out. It wasn't sunny really but still felt like it was warming up, and I started swetating quickly. Both inner knees felt a bit sore at first, but eased off after about a mile. It was good to be out doing something more like a proper out-and-back route, rather than just loops around the block. It covered a lot of familiar ground from my favourite six mile route.
Anyhow - the run itself proceeded pretty uneventfully, apart from the fact that I got extremely hot, and I was glad that I took a drinks bottle. Heaven knows how I'll cope with temperatures of 30 degrees plus :os. The second half of the run went particularly well, with no real niggles. Just rather bother at how hard I was having to work for what a while back would have been a short run at a relatively low pace, but it'll come back!
