FFS! ARGGGGGGHHHHH!!!
Okay - what's going on? Just did the weekly weigh in and it's gone up again! I'm not snacking on crisps all day, I'm getting out there and doing 50km bike rides, running, and doing gym classes - and yet the weight is going up - WTF?
And no - it's not a blip - there's a definite trend to it. It's been up every week for the last month. I've put on over four pounds, in spite of doing 14 hour training weeks.
I seriously don't get it! Sometimes I've felt like I might be going a bit hypo - I don't really think I should eat any less!

Weight back to 14 stone 2 :o(. I was hoping to have hit the target weight by now, but the last few months have seen very slow progress, and now I seem to have lost all of that. I was this weight back in mid-August!

have you measured as well?
oooh no - that's not a bad idea - haven't been doing that. Ta :oD
so HOW are you going to compare?
wish i had measured 4 years ago, pre running
meldy put on a stone of muscle when Ironman training
guess I have to start now - would seem a bit weird though if I'd only started addign muscle just recently - been doign weights and stuff as well as the biking and running for months.
Maybe the weight loss just "out paced" any muscle gain?
I dunno!
Exactly as you have just said Bear - chances are you've lost what weight, fat wise, that you will and will now get heavier thru muscle build up. Don't forget that muscle is 4 times denser than fat.
Personally, I'd chuck the scales away and go on either measurement or simply how your clothes feel. Its a mistake to get hung up on actual pounds n ounces. Added to which, you say that you couldn't eat any less. Are you sure you are eating enough to fuel the training you are doing? Cos if you aren't, your body will go into starvation mode and store what it does get as fatty deposits, thinking that a famine is about to hit. Our bodies don't work on the same knowledge as our brains - it doesn't know you are dieting.
okay - I coudl eat less, but I'd start getting worried if I did. I don't actually feel like I'm starving myself, but do okcassionally feel a bit woozy after long rides. I think I'd be daft to eat less.
I don't feel like I'm starving myself, but maybe given the levels of training it's effectively like that. Eat more but burn more off - I dunno.
right
post a couple of days typical food in take on training and non training days and lets see!
sounds like a plan :o)
will start in a couple of days - got a day doign physio obs tomorrow so it won't exactly be typical
okay
and then we will see
might be summat obvious
you never know
Ah, but if you end up with the excuse that none of your days are typical.... You should have the discipline to eat sensibly even in 'strange' surroundings. Have you really really looked at what you're eating? The type of food, portion size etc? Low GI v high GI? If you're woozy sometimes why not take an isotonic drink with you and slurp on that while you're out (rather than that cake stuff).
Yes, some of it could be muscle gain. And yes, you should really go by how your clothes feel and how you feel.
