Sleeping Satellites...
Distance: 2.4 miles
Time: 19 minutes
Shoes: Kayanos (with heel raise)
My first outdoor run in the new shoes. I went outside to check if I could get my scooter past the car that had inconsoderately parked in my space, and thought that the Garmin should have picked up the satallites by then! It kept doing that trick where it gets up to 99% found and then flips back to 80%. I later found out that you're supposed to stand still while it "tunes in".
Anyhow - I got bored (and cold), and set out without waiting for it to locate the satellites. The run went pretty well - a twinge in the outside of the right knee (are the K's throwing my feet out too far?) but otherwise no real problem, other than my mileage seeming low. I'd intended to run a mile out and a mile back, but at the end of Mulgrave Road (estimated at 0.9 miles) the Garmin said 0.7, so I ran further than intended, until the 305 said 1.00 miles.
I turned round to head back, feeling that the time for one mile was slow (9:34), and the return journey was trouble free. It became pretty apparent as time went by that the return journey (which you'd think would be the same length) was going to be longer. In the end it was 0.2 miles longer according to the Garmin. A quick upload and it became apparent why - it hadn't started recording until 0.2 into the run!!
Anyhow - that makes the route I did 2.4 miles, so a pretty nice run to break the shoes in. A bit worried that the inside of my left knee is still sore though - that was one think I hoped the K's would cure. Less bad than it had been though, so that's a good thing.
