Pushing it a Bit!
Distance: 1 mile
Time: 7:59
Same route as the last one - round the local block, and this time I felt great through the first 0.35 of a mile. I reached the half way point in about 3:30, but the leg went a bit dead after that. Still managed to keep going, focussing on keeping tight abs and bum (my weak areas, according to the physio), and managed to keep going reasonably well.
Even so - my fitness isn't what it was, and in spite of pushing it all round the lap, I still only just managed to finish the mile just under 8 minutes. Leg wasn't twingeinh though, which is progress, but I've iced in to be safe.
Also just got some Nike Frees - interesting concept, supposed to stop the foot being "lazy" as it doesn't give a lot of support. Just getting used to them around the house at the moment - I'll report back!

Well well well - someone else with a weak bum - who'd have thought
My physio told me that my glutes and Hamstrings were weaker than my quads and when I got tired and compensated - THAT was what caused MY injury.
So bum strengthening it is for me too!!!!!
Maybe we should form a support group.....

but Leon cos we have weak bums we need supportin! hehe
so lets compare notes - what exercises do you do!!
Wish I could do 8mm when fit let alone when unfit! Well done bear but do take care won't you!

yep!
see if my bum wasn't weak it wouldn't have made me over pronate more which wouldn't have put pressure on my solus muscle which wouldn't have got tight and wouldn't have pulled on my perius (great spelling this!) and caused the stress reaction!!!
